Members of HERALD5 have the option of also joining SAFE in HERALD 5 — a “third option” supervisory accountability association in accordance to SC statute 59-65-47. SAFE legalizes your homeschooling in SC. SAFE provides documentation for driver’s licenses, dual enrollment, and high school transcripts for those needing those services. Details are on the Application Form. SAFE also offers a College Gift Fund when funds are available for disbursement.
- Please be aware that you need to be a member of HERALD5 as well. Please fill out BOTH of these applications! You can download the HERALD5 application here.
- All SAFE families need to complete a Course of Study sheet for each of their students. For those in high school, an additional High School Worksheet is to be completed at the end of each academic year in order for courses to be placed on the student’s SAFE transcript.
- To be a member of SAFE, you also need to join Homeschool Legal Defense Association. On their home page, look for ‘Explore HSLDA membership’ under the ‘Get Started’ tab to become a member. And before you join, look for SAFE’s discount code (on the first page of our application) to receive a discount on the annual cost of membership.
Deadline to Apply: Sept 1st
