Hello SAFE in HERALD5 parents,
Our homeschool started slowly this past Monday as our two still at home began a few courses and their regular schedule of heading to ballet in the evenings. We wanted to allow sister time before their older sister heads back to Anderson University this Sunday. The slow start has been nice, especially as I try out some of the curriculum changes for this year. You know how it is! I hope your start for the 2025-2026 year is one of your best!
I want to remind everyone about our Fall meeting this coming Tuesday, August 19:
Location – Riverbend Community Church
(1015 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington, SC 29072)
Time – 6:00-8:30pm
We’ll open the doors at 6:00 for fellowship and completing applications. The official program will start all together in the sanctuary at 6:30, then we’ll have several short sessions: general Q&A, a breakout for new elementary and middle school families, a breakout for high school families, and meetings regarding the 2026 graduation and the teen (grades 7-12) student group, HEART. (Please see my email from July 31 about our need for a few volunteers to serve as greeters (still needed) and bring snacks or water.)
ANOTHER WAY YOU CAN HELP:
SAFE could use a few more families, and the best way to find them is word of mouth. Would you consider inviting a family you know to come to our Fall meeting, or send an email like the one below? I am also attaching a flyer you are welcome to pass around or post. THANK YOU!

As a member of SAFE in HERALD5, you’ll receive:
- Legal coverage under SC Option 3
- High School Transcripts plus scholarship and other advice and support for post-High School
- Help getting started for those new to homeschooling

- An annual graduation ceremony (optional)
- A teen social group (HEART)
- Participation in the SC Palmetto Fellows scholarship program
