SAFE Fall Meeting – August 19

Hello SAFE in Herald 5 parents,

We hope you all have enjoyed summer’s change of pace and known the Lord’s presence & provisions! It’s hard to believe that the beginning of another school year is just around the corner. My husband, Timothy, and I have been a part of SAFE for 17 years and recently stepped into the administrative leadership role since many who have been long-time leaders graduated their last child this past May and Amanda Maybach, our most recent administrator, has passed the baton on to us in order to spend more needed time & attention with her girls.

Thank you, Amanda, for your many years of service! Amanda will continue to be around to help out as needed & to offer her expertise.

Tim & I are looking forward to coming alongside you in your homeschool journey this school year, and we’re looking forward to all that the Lord has for each of us!

Here are the details about our upcoming fall meeting:

Date – Tuesday, August 19th

Location – Riverbend Community Church

(1015 Corley Mill Rd., Lexington, SC 29072)

Time – 6:00-8:30pm

Here is the agenda for the evening:

6:00 – 6:30pm – Members arrive, sign-in, turn in applications*, grab a snack, and mingle

  • Applications & other forms are due by Sept. 1 and are available on our website – https://herald5.com/resources/

6:30 – 7:10pm – General Announcements in the Sanctuary

7:10 – 7:30pm – Guest Speaker

7:30 – 7:45pm – Mingle & enjoy snacks

  • Jr. & Sr. moms, plan to meet briefly in the back of the sanctuary to touch base about the May 2026 graduation ceremony

7:45 – 8:30pm – Breakout Sessions

We will have 4 sessions: new-to-homeschool, high school, HEART-teens, and a Q & A panel

Dads are always welcome at our meetings, and all HEART students (students in grades 7-12) are invited to attend as well so they can meet/greet and plan some fun upcoming activities for our community of teenagers this school year.

Note: Nursing babies are always welcome, and you may bring your other children, but you will need to be responsible for them throughout the evening because we do not provide a nursery or childcare.

SAFE in H5 is a volunteer organization so we value your help!

Here’s the kind of help we need at our fall meeting:

1) 2 people to arrive early at 5:45pm to be greeters

2) 1-2 people arrive early at 5:45pm to help set-up

3) 1-2 people stay until 8:45pm to help clean up

4) many volunteers to bring a sweet or salty finger food

5) several volunteers to bring water bottles

If you would like to be a greeter or serve by helping set up or clean up, please reply to me at this email address or text me at (803) 845-2358 and let me know how you would like to assist.

If you want to help by bringing a food item or water bottles, please text Amanda Maybach (803-429-1386).

If you have family or friends who are interested in homeschooling or need an accountability group, bring them along to find out more about our community so we can continue to grow & flourish. The more the merrier!

Look forward to seeing all of you in a few weeks on TUESDAY, Aug.19!

Blessings,
Melody Snyder
