HERALD 5 was founded in 1986 as a support group for home schooling families in the St. Andrews/Irmo/Chapin area; however, residence in Lexington/Richland District 5 is not required for membership. We are a volunteer organization, comprised of members who educate, have educated, or intend to educate one or more of their children at home. We are a support group only, not an accountability association. To homeschool legally in S.C., you must join an accountability association. To view accountability options available in S.C., see "Where to Start" in the menu at the top.

***Virtual Charter Schools - HERALD 5 is a support group for homeschoolers and not public school students; VCS families cannot be admitted to HERALD 5. Learn more.
